David has worked in community development for over two decades for governments and third sector agencies both in the UK and overseas. He studied part-time for three years at the Yorkshire Ministry Course, receiving an MA with Distinction from the University of Sheffield. He was ordained Deacon in 2015 and Priest in 2016 by the Bishop of Derby. He served as a self-supporting Assistant Curate in the parish of Chapel-en-le-Frith and in the benefice of Bakewell, both market towns in the Diocese of Derby, before being licensed in 2018 as self-supporting Priest-in-Charge of the benefice of Glossop, a parish in the Anglo-Catholic tradition. Between 2015 and 2018 David also worked as a Diocesan Officer supporting parishes across the Diocese of Derby. David is married to Lesley, a registered childminder; they have two grown-up children (Andrew, married to Beccy; Sarah) and one grandchild (Aidan). David and Lesley live in Hadfield with their two cats.
