Joanna studied Geography at Oxford University, a subject that enabled her to combine her love for the world and its people. She completed a PGCE and then taught in a large secondary school in Harrogate for five years. She trained for ordination at Cranmer Hall, Durham where she completed a BA in Theology and then an MA in Theology and Ministry. Within her MA she focussed on communication, the psalms and worship. She served her curacy at St George’s Leeds before becoming Associate Rector there in 2010. In 2012 she led a small team of people as part of a graft to support a local church of which she became the Priest in Charge. In 2018 she became the Director of Interns for the Diocese of Leeds, and Area Dean of Headingley. Joanna lives in Leeds with her husband, Che, and son Nathan.
